Maybe Living Above a Liquor Store ISN'T the Best Thing Ever.

Thanks to a fun night out topped off with an ambien, I blissfully slept through the armed robbery that went down 10 feet below me last night.

I'm not happy.

Wasn't it just last night you were saying how awesome it was to live over a liquour store??
Lunch today? Lots of grease?

What I want to know is ... how much time passed from your stopping off at the liquor store, and the subsequent robbery? And why aren't you thanking someone or something that those two didn't "go down" at the same time?

Anoymous-

I actually didn't stop off at the liquor store. I was out with friends and then went home. I got home around 11, and the robbery (or attempted robbery as it turns out, there was a gun involved, though.) went down about 2 hours later.

If the whole "thanking someone or something" is some higher power reference, first of all what makes you think I didn't? I mean, I didn't. But you shouldnt just assume. But if it will appease you, or god, or whatever, here ya go...

Dear God,

Thank you for supplying the drugged out crackhead with enough personal resources to obtain enough crack to get him through the early part of the evening, so that by the time his stash ran out, and he was desperate for cash to buy more crack, I was already in bed, and I did not have to cross paths with him or his gun.

Sincerely,

Grace

Sorry, I shouldn't have assumed that: (1) you stopped off at the liquor store (although you do live above it, and therefore you surely were passing by the entrance on your way to your house/condo/townhouse/apartment); and (2) that you didn't thank God for your missing an encounter with Mr. Crackhead.

God says He is well pleased with your thanks. LOL. Oh, and He also says that the Freddy Awards were hysterical, and that He actually does love "fags." Although He doesn't call them "fags."

Why the hell would you get drunk on a Monday?

"Why the hell would you get drunk on a Monday?"

I don't understand the question.

It seems the answer is already in the question.

Q: "Why the hell would you get drunk on a Monday?"
A: Because its Monday.

That's kinda like using a word while trying to define that same word. I hate circular logic, it gets me all confused.

Ummmm, there are two Anonymous characters responding to this post. I'm the Assuming Anonymous (kind of like "Doubting Thomas," but I have more As. In fact, I'm AA).

Mulaho, I'm not disagreeing with Grace, or starting another Turf War. The "LOL" should have clued you in on that. I think Grace is the funniest writer this side of the Mississippi. I howl at a lot of her blogs, cry at others. Grace is a goddess of wit. I heart her.

Only cool kids get drunk on Monday. Or at least, you know, us. Seriously, wtf kind of question is that?

I can see why a fraternity pledge would get drunk on a Monday? An ADULT in her 30's? Not so much.

Ok. anonymous. You are superior to me. Don't get excited. Most people are.

Can I ask why you read my blog?

Your life must suck. Do you even have friends? You probably just think you do, but c'mon, nobody likes a stick-in-the mud judgmental prick.
